OBD II Scanners ?

What portable ones do some of you use? Whats a good mid range unit? Want a little more than a basic code reader you can get at Harbor Freight fpor $40. Actron, Innova, SnapOn or others. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I have a OTC Nemisys, it gives me more info than I need most of the time. You want a scanner that will read Mode6 [ misfire activity], ABS, and Trans codes. A new Nemisys will run about 700.00 if you shop around and I've seen them for 400.00 on ebay motors.

I picked this up for cheap money http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...120032917&rd=1 . MSRP is around $120 or so but they normally sell for $70 at most online stores. It is a decent unit (not a no name if you research them) but it doesn't bring in the high dollars on ebay because of the other "name brands". I think for the money you can't go wrong, if you know enough about cars then this scanner will work just fine for you.

Other than that there are some nice laptop units out there that read voltages and such as the vehicle is running. I can ask my buddy what he has but it's a pretty slick unit, I've heard they range from $100-$500ish but you need your own laptop.

If you have a laptop, I recommend the Autotap, www.obdii.com. I have had one for several years and it is great.
