New spark plugs
New spark plugs
Hey folks, I've searched and I cannot find the tread where it was mentioned that bosch plugs do not work well in ford trucks? Is that true or something i misread? I want to upgrade my ignition on my truck obviously with new plugs (2 or more spark points preferred) new coil packs (age adn one appears to be damaged a bit) and new coil pack wires (cops i believe abbreviated). Any recommendations?
Thank you!

I will tell you that my experience with Bosch plugs (platinums) has been poor on a Mercedes, Honda, and VW... They appear to run fine for awhile then start causing miss fires.... I wont touch them again. Stick with Autolite, or the Ford brand...
I've used Bosch plugs for years with no problems. After reading all the horror stories about Bosch on this board, I was a little wary of them. But, the crews on the local racing teams all swear by Bosch, so I gave Bosch plugs a try. The Bosch plugs have worked just fine in all the Ford trucks I've put them in. In cold weather, they definitely beform better than the OEM plugs.
Most guys on this board pimp Motorcraft. I seriously doubt most of them have ever used a Bosch plug... just regurgitate the same old stories they heard here. Just another reason it's a waste of time to ask questions about oil, plugs, gas, etc... on these boards.

Hey folks, alright, so the +4 plats avoid. I think thats what i remembered hearing, the advanced auto guys said autolites and motorcrafts along with bosch were the top 3 people buy/choose.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
Stick w/ motorcraft platinums. The bosch plat 4s are the ones you want to avoid.I have been running the bosch 4s for 10000+miles now w/o probs but maybe i'm just lucky.I will be switching though just from seeing pics of them.

Use the factory recommended. I ended up having a fried COP because I had put one of those Splitfire plugs in, and it was too much for it, and it fried.

Well folks, I changed the plugs and installed a new fuel filter today. I got Autolite's 104's, dielectric greased the cop boots and put antiseize on the plugs and the new fuel filter went on, what a pain changing the plugs, but well worth the effort!
