Oil pressure guage is pegged

This is on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee I6.
Oil level is good.

I'm thinking sending unit? the thing that looks like an inline fuel filter thingy (tech term there)
Any thoughts?

Thanks

It's probably shorted somewhere, which would create infinite ohms and peg the gauge. I know easier said than done, but try to trace the wire from the sender up to the firewall, look for any worn or broken spots.
