Lightbulb Ultimate modular V8

I have a 98 F-150 with a 4.6 SOHC. My friend just wrecked his 2000 Navigator with a 5.4 32 value DOHC. The engine and trans are in great shape. It just occured to me that this is the same base engine that Ford used in the Ford GT supercar. Hmmmm. A plan is forming. What parts would I have to mod or replace to do an engine swap? I an thinking that with this engine and a supercharger, 500 hp is a reality. I already have a Lighting trans in my truck and a 4.10 rear. Help??!!

Cool

HI!... Sorry to break it to you but the 5.4 DOHC in the NAVIGATOR is VERY different than the FORD GT 5.4 DOHC. The GT uses a aluminum dry sump block. The NAV 5.4 uses a regular 5.4 cast iron block that's wet sump. The GT's DOHC heads are totally different. Specific to just the GT 5.4. The GT has forged "H" beam rods and MAHLE pistons. The NAV 5.4 has powder forged rods and factory cast pistons.

Also if your trans (4R100) did not come from and actual LIGHTNING then they are not the same. The 4R100 that comes in the LIGHTNING's is the strongest version of the 4R100. The 4R100's that come in the regular F-150's are a far cry from being as strong.

If your Navi was a 4x4 and your truck is a 4x2 or vice versa the tranny is useless. You don't need the 4R100 to make this combo work. The tranny in your truck will bolt up to the Navi engine. The Navi puts out 300 Hp and 355 Ft-Lbs of torque. But if you start modding the engine then the tranny will take a crap real soon. Now if you plan on using the 4R100 tranny ant both vehicles are 4x4 don't use the Navi T-case. It is an AWD t-case and your F-150 is not. You will need the GEM from the Navi and that will be a major PITA to wire up to your truck.

I have allready researched the swap and YES it is fairly simple if the proper parts are bolted in the right places, use the torque converter and tranny that is in your truck now (I recomend upgrading it with a factory tech seperator plate, transgo or B&M shift kit), a 90mm MAF and bigger fuel injectors won't hurt you none at all (since you will need a cusom tune anyway, why not get the most for your troubles)
send me a PM if you need anymore info on the swap and part interchange.

People see too many rice burner crotch rocket bikes on the road and mistake "screaming" for "fast". Keep in mind those things have like 600cc engines, usually 2 (maybe 3) cylinders and a handful of moving parts so they can rev to like 12,000 RPM. However, they don't make squat for torque, which is why trucks don't use 2 stroke engines.

My 351w V8 rarely ever passes about 3000 RPM (you have to hold the pedal floored in like second for it to pass that) and it's making torque all over the friggen' place.

Screamer engines don't necessarily make a lot of power.... For example, my old sled(11 years) has a 380cc twin 2 stroke motor. Revs to like 7500 RPM. Makes about 35hp and maybe 15lb/ft of torque.

But man, the screamers can be fun. 600cc '03 REV. Revs to 8600RPM and about 130hp. 0-60 in about 4 seconds on good snow. Top speed of 109mph. Whooooo
Could it haul a little red wagon? Nope.
