overheat engine w/a/c

Hello everyone, seems my temperature guage pegs at only at high speeds with the a/con, like 75 mph if I drop my speed to 60 or so the tempdrops. Any ideas, I have a F150 2001 with 100,ooo miles. Thanks

Sounds like your A/C compressor is starting to drag. You may lose your compressor soon.

Do you happen to have cottonwood in your area? Perhaps there is a buildup of crap (mud, cottonwood....) between the radiator and condenser. It's pretty common around here. To clean it properly you need to seperate but not usually remove the condenser and radiator. It can usually be hosed out. I have seen mud plug up radiators before. These we needed to be removed and soak then blow out with compressed air.
