spark plugs

spark plugs

I have a 2000 with a 5.4 and was woundering if someone could tell me how hard is it to change you're own plugs what tools are needed and what is the torque spec. The shop teels me it's a three hour job.

cheack out the technical articles.It prob will take you a good three hours the first time and make sure you use lots of dielectric grease

its not extremely hard if you have the patiance to do it, it took me and my brother about 3 hours.

Yes sir , that's what they charge, actually it's 2.9 hours according to ALLData.

Just follow Matts instructions and you'll be alright -

The only other thing that I would emphasize is make sure you use Dielectric Grease very Important with a Coil Over Plug application - otherwise spark will jump all around inside the boots , so bad that you can see the carbon trails

Not Kidding...

Also , use Motorcraft plugs or you may be doing it again real soon. Motorcraft Plugs are the failsafe plugs for these modulars..

Torque = 12 - 20 ' lbs


BTW - It only takes me 10 minutes , Once I get there, knauk, knauk, knauk...
