new here

ok, i am new here, and new to the whole forum scene altogether. i just bought a 05 nascar edition supercrew, and the only nascar thing about it is the badging, this thing is slow. im sure all of you know that with the supercrews and the 5.4L. are there any cost effective hop ups for these things that i can do? i know about the cold air intakes and the exhaust, but thats as far as my knowledge takes me. thanks for the help.

If you do a Forum Search you will find TONS of posts on power-adders. most of those special editions are only badged. to start out with I would...

Edge Evolution Tuner (or Troyer Custom Tune)
Cold Air Intake (AF1 is favored here it seems)
E-Fans (help in many ways including power)
New Exhaust system (I would go w/ Magnaflow as would most posters here)
and search woulc come up w/ more...

What is it you want to hear?
Did you not look at the truck and at least test drive it before signing on the bottom line?
The truck weighs in the area of nearly 6000 lbs with you in it and reasonable fuel level.
329 cu /in of poorly tuned software from a performance standpoint.
Electronic throttle control with poor response, and the list goes on.
Enjoy.

Agreed, and if you look into a cold air intake do a search on "transfer function" and read about the consequences of changing the intake w/o a tune. E-fans have gotta to be one of the best routes I would think, and a tune from Troyer or Edge. As far as exhuast, with a cat back, the power difference between anything and stock is minimal, just pick the muffler that you think sounds best, I chose my 50 series Flowmaster for that reason, cuz magnaflows sound like chit.
