HELP!!!!
After checking vacuum lines, I replaced the DPFE. No joy my truck still hesistates especially around 45 mph almost like a bucking. Then I replaced the EGR valve it looked like it had some carbon build up. Still no joy, so this morning I took the TB off and cleaned the two ports that led to the EGR valve still no joy. Has anyone ever seen the vacuum assist pump cause this problem? I'm really stuck and hate to take in for repair. Anyone have any suggestions thanks for any assistance.

The hesitation @ 45mph is a cylinder misfire . It has nothing to do with PO402.
Your handleing 402 properly and that's great advice Steve gave you above - torkum as well.
Ford updated the DPFE and they can only be had at the dealership.
The misfire @ 45mph hasn't set a fault code yet . It's very very dificult for these computerers to detect that type of failure until the problem gets worsens.
Therefore, people usually end up taking there vehicles to the dealership and pay a heavy cost for them to pull the nessesary info out your comps memory to evaluate, diagnose and fix.
Theres a way around all that if you mechanically inclined enough are able to change a sparkplug.
Year, milage, and motor size of your truck is needed to continue..

I'm not sure anyone knows what Ford updated in the DPFE - just that it was a needed update. That was all the info I've seen on it , so it remains a mystery.
At least you know that yours could be a faulty one as well and you know where to get your next one .
Ford upgraded theirs because the old design was crap and they recognized it. I haven't determined who their vendor is for the upgraded part. Until I do, I'm going to treat all aftermarket versions with suspicion due to DOA and short-term failures reported with DPFE sensors from both NAPA and AutoZone. That's why I have taken to recommending only the Motorcraft version for the time being.
If yours is still working after an extended period of time, let us know. It's always desirable to get positive feedback on repair parts that have proven themselves.

Wells Gardner make hardware for OEMs.
They have tolerences to meet for OEM acceptance.
Those that fall outside, but are close, may be sold to the aftermarket at lower prices.
That's what you take your chance on and how these stores are able to offer warrenty replacement by taking a chance the parts won't go bad any time to soon.
Same with alternators and other parts from rebuild contractors.
That's how their biz runs on a lot of items, not all though.
