Friday Night Lights

Whats up everyone havent been on the forum in a while. Since I have been off I have got Duel flowmaster 40 series, excellent sound and quality. To cut to the chase Friday night Im racing a friend with an 04 Chevy silverado. I'm hopin I can get some encouragement before i go in ablazin. I have an 04 fx4 with 5.4 and its all stock except the flows. He has an 04 silverado with a 5.3 his is also four wheel drive. Hes got a fiberglass bed which is lighter, but he is rocker 22 inch rims where i am rockin 18s. His mods are K &n intake and flowmasters, tell me what you guyz think the outcome will be and I'll post more and tell you what goes down.

Don't know how the 22's would affect things but a friends 04 Supercab FX4 supposedly is about even with a local 03 Chevy 5.3 ext. cab Z71 drag racing. Both stock except for exhaust. Interesting note the Fx4 also runs even with a 2001 5.4 Supcab 4x4. Both same cab, both 3.55s, both 265/70R17s. 300 horsepower running even with the old 260 horse 5.4.

Klitch , you catching a cold -

I had a Flowmaster before I upgraded to the Magnaflows -

Power gains typically average about 15-17 HP (flywheel) on the 4.6 & 18-21 HP (flywheel) on the 5.4 motor. Thanks to the largest peak power gains as well as more torque at any throttle position or rpm, this cat-back system is literally perfect for any kind of use, *great* for drag racing, this exhaust adds more power all the time in any situation.

My wheels didn't break loose in second until I added it

The reason the new fords run the same as the older models is b/c they are to fat.I have not had the pleasure to race a 5.3 yet but i can tell you that they pull very hard up top.I have driven a few and they are pretty snotty.I say ditch the flows if possible and get rid of extra weight.I would like to hear the outcome.I think you will have him off the line but after i don't know.

Long tubes Klitch - Sure , I can relate . Whats a Hornie Purple ?

Remember that vid you posted of that ranger smoking that dodge.

I went to yutube and watched him race a lightning and completly blew it away . In the caption it stated the work done to the motor and $ that he put into it = 5 grand for 565 HP. No blower - it was NA with reworked heads .

I'm just wondering if that's possible for that price , if so , who needS a blower?

Well , unless 565 ponies isn't good enough ...

if the budget allows... yeah i like the look of a traditional blower...
but i may not do it to keep the car close to GT as i can.
