Exclamation Airaid Modification

It's been about a week since I put on my body lift and for my Airaid cold air intake to work I had to remove the heat shield and just put the filter straight onto the intake tube....I don't know the best way to modify the intake so that i can put the heat shield back on... I need about 2.5 inches of extra height to the intake so that the heat shield can be mounted on the body and the seal on the throttle body can stay tight...Today I took my filter off and looked at it....its starting to tear because of the engine rock and it has nothing to protect it....please give me some ideas...

You can cut the ring off the stock unit and modifi to fit - plug it in your inner fender well below your filter so that it rests on the ring - I don't use a box and that protects mine. The ring is below the filter in both pics..

You can see what I'm talking about here as well -

Good luck
