2.79 but it's starting to slide a little. I saw some Shells that were 2.81 down to 2.78.
And it is amazing how as the price goes up the spread between regular and mid grade widens.

Hey TexfordD, I go to Waco a couple times a month and have noticed that gas is always .10 to .15 a gal cheaper there.. any ideas why?.. is there some tax or penalty we have to pay in Dallas and Austin because of air quality laws?
And yeah, before I head up there I let the tank run down so I can fill up while I'm there.. lol..

Cripes - I'm on vacation in SoCal and I paid $3.39 in LA Tuesday. That was for 87 octane self serve.........70 buck fillups are no fun!

I've never really noticed any significant change in performance/mileage when using different brands. I just fill up at the nearest station when my low fuel light comes on. The gas pipeline runs right through the middle of Albany,Ga and I see all the major brand fuel tankers loading at the terminal. Gas is gas to me.

lmao

Around here gas is around 2.59. A week ago it was around 2.79. I whish it would have been this cheap last week when I had to run to Coon Rapids two days in a row.

I pretty much use one of the major brands when ever I need to fill up on the road. Locally I use a conaco phillips 66.

Who is doing wrong to you? Don't even blame the gas companies. They are only getting 8-9% profit on the gas. They do have share holders (you and me if we own stock in them) to keep happy. It is a business. How about blame the government taxes? the feds get far more than 9% and the state government taxes it on top if that. Seems to me that is what we had the boston tea party for partially.... unfair taxes. 8-9% profit is not out of line by any measure. People get sucked in by the profit dollar numbers. It is a matter of volume. Or how about how our government won't let the companies drill for oil when they know where it is? Or how about the fact that the government won't let anyone build a new refinery? There hasn't been a new refinery since I think 1976. But demand has gone WAY up since then. Then there is OPEC... A whole nother topic. Now you tell me why the gas prices are so high? And they are still relitivly low compared to other countries. Cry me a river.

Actually

A Study was performed to see which fuel burned the cleanest and BP's additives proved to be superior to the other companies. Their fuel burned cleaner and the engines ran cleaner. I had not used much BP fuel prior to hearing of this study and I have switched to BP. I must say that my 97 Lariat seems to like the BP brand better.

TexEdition; It's because your out of the EPA zone. The gas there is cheaper to produce than the supposivly smog reducing chit they sell here.

Labratory studies cause cancer in rats.......

I posted elsewhere is a gas post a few weeks ago that Chevron actually makes the cleanest and best burning gasoline per gallon than any other manufacturere. This is duein part to the detergent blend and the highly gaurded Techron secret.

Ford owns Jaguar, Land Rover, etc....all brittis car companies that receive subsidies from guess who.......British Petroleum (BP).

Jaguar and Land Rover dont run BP in their 100k engine tests
They run Chevron.......
