totally dead

my 97 4.6 is totally dead. parked her a few days ago she was fine. went to turn the key and got nothing. ok ill give her a jump. still nothing not even headlights. battery is about a year old. any suggestion??? thanx in advance.

Dead battery, loose cable, corroded off cable. Do you have lights? Do you hear the solenoid click? Check voltage on battery.

i checked battery connections. thats what i thought as well. im getting nothing i mean NOTHING. no clicking etc... ill check again maybye i overlooked something.

just threw a multimeter on the battery. its dead lol. battery showed no signs of weakness etc... its only a 540cc battery anyway. shouldnt these trucks have at least 600cc??

nice one. my problems always been a corroded positive cable, i have a new one sitting out there on a nail in the stud wall... just waiting for the old one to be ripped out... lol yeah, my 5.4 swaps gonna take 5 days cause of the extra crap im doing along side with the swap :P

Had the same prob once , it was the Mega fuses -




They Break inside and create that prob -




Also those wires on the starter corode easily - if you clean them up be careful removing the small nut on the bottom - that stub breaks off very easily - then your F'ed..
