Safety Torx for MAF

Does anyone know where to get the safety torx bit to remove the MAF? While I was at American Auto parts picking up the MAF cleaner I looked but couldn't find them. Also, is a bad MAF detectable by looking at the wires. ie; if one is discolored but not broken is it still OK?

Grainger local or Grainger.com but you will probably have to call the 800 number to speak with someone. You can buy a set with every imaginable combination of safety bolt removers or just the one you want. If memory serves, it is a Torx M6 Safety (might have been the M8 but I am pretty sure M6)

Sears or almost any auto parts store.

Ask for Tamper-Proof or Security Torx bits. Probably a T20. There is no M-series internal Torx bits available as they don't exist. All internal Torx bits are T-series.

MAF and Safety Torx

I picked up a set of the safety Torx bits from the local Murray's Discount Auto parts. About $6.

You can get them from Harborfreight.com on their web site or as here in Tucson in their retail store.

Also, I have a second set that I bought at the local swap meet a few years ago.

I actually needed them to get inside my Black & Decker Coffee Maker because I was too cheap to go buy another one when it started to leak.
