Every once and awhile iwhen i start my truck and i just touch the gas and let off the truck idols up and down. it sounds like it has a cam in it or somthin. it sounds pritty sick but its def not right. it stays running but its just up and down. any hints on how to fix this and possibly why its doing this.

 

im n o pro but mine did the same thing and got worse after while till i got a 02 sensor code. i assume the 02 sensor was still with in the limits and made the engine run rough but i replaced my 02 and walla gone.

 

do a search on "IAC"

&/or "EGR Ports"

Yes, start by checking your EGR system, IAC, and COP's. Alternately, you could test your patience, and hopefully your truck will spit out a CEL.

 

mine did the same thing and it had a bad vacuum line. does it make any extra noise. mine whistled. just another idea to check out, mine also didnt throw a code at first but as it got worse it did throw the CEL.
