Tips on changing plugs

I have a 97 F150, 4.6L. The check idiot light came on and the truck has been running sluggish. I am going to change plugs and was wondering what else should I change or look for. Thanks alot.

I used to have a '97 4.6L it was a good little truck. plugs are pretty easy, I'd get a code reader and check what that light was, you might as well clean your MAF while you're at it. If you want you could do PCV valve also, just depends on how much time and money you have to spend. good luck welcome to f150online

First head over to Auto Zone let them read the codes - it's free - find out whats wrong with it before you do the plugs.

Get the numbers of the fault codes and post them here , don't let them tell you what's wrong with it - copy the numbers down yourself , you'll get plenty of help , lots of good people on this site

Get the codes

Yep, write down the numbers of the codes. Search for the code on here. I thought I needed to change my COPS and plugs for a whole day until I had the codes read. My truck was stumbling and turning off at the lights. Ended up being a 24 dollar PCV hose from the dealer. I almost spent 450 for COPS and plugs.
