Help! My ignition cylinder won't turn!
Hey There
Before you go drilling check the brake pedal switch for broken wire. Get under dash under steering column and you'll see a unit attached to the brake pedal. Check the green wire (only one) coming off that unit. I broke mine twice in 5 years. Because of the brake pedal moving in and out it obviously stresses the wire. Your key will not turn if it's broken. Still can't figure out how I found it the first time. Pretty scary if you ask me. Stuck out in the middle of nowhere and that happens. Love my 97 truck but very poor setup there. Anyways good luck.
Oh and the by the way, when you try touching the wires together you'll probably blow a fuse. I think it was a 5 (or 15) amp. Anyways make sure to check that if wire is broken and you still can't turn the key.
