Starting Problems
if your really concearned about it. pull that starter out and eyeball it. jump the power lead and bendix, but damn you better hold onto it if you do that with it in your hands.
so yeah if its really a problem. pull it out and inspect it. also, you can use needle nose pliers to jump the starter so you can hear it by your self.

Hey mred
Well glad to see I'm not hearing things as well. I did say it "sounded" like the fan blade was slightly touching...i don't believe that's it otherwise you have far more serious problems. I think Klitch is right with the starter issue but before I take things apart I'm going to use a stethascope (or long screwdriver) and listen to each moving part that way you can narrow it down to a component hopefully.
By the way...what does a squirrel in the engine sound like? I thought, as you start the truck, it would something like....HOLY C@#$....then dead silence.
