I have a F150 xlt4.6 V8 triton motor but the problem is that I have knocking and pinging in the motor but i don't think that i threw a rod but i also think that my water pump might be bad but how do you tell and also my valves are tapping but my oil levelis just right what to do???????

 

Whats the specs on your oil? [weight/brand] Why do you think the water pump is bad? [temp rising/bottom hose cold] Give us your miles.

 

Any codes in it? Hows the oil pressure? I would remove the oil filter and take a hack saw and cut around the top of the filter. Then you can pull the carteridge out and look through the folds of the paper. If you see metal flake then you know you have bearing problems. If its clean then you can trouble shoot the rest.
