cleaning TB??

I was wondering if someone could tell me what i should use to clean my throttle body? I changed the plugs yesterday and the TB has some sludge build up in it? Will this cause my truck to be sluggish off the line?

Use throttle body cleaner spray, and a old toothbrush just to get into tough places. Same thing for the elbow the t-body bolts to and remove and clean the IAC too. Do a bit of a search and you'll see different articles about this, one for example is to seafoam it. Others say clean the egr too.

Carb cleaner.

A good set of automotive pipe cleaners for the ports..

Clean your IAC with brake cleaner/carb cleaner, follow it up with WD40 or seafoams Deep Creep to lube it up good. Work the mechanism back and forth , make sure it's free of carbon deposits..

X 2 - Be sure to use a cleaner that says it is safe for a TB. Many TBs have a teflon coating on them to keep them from sticking. Harsher, old school, carb. cleaners may damage this coating.

Yeah , that's Fords anti sludge coating - Best to eliminate it all together otherwise it can have adverse effects once it starts to deteriorate on it's own.

Best thing I ever did for my TB was polish it - 600 grit then buff it out with jewelers polish - nothing sticks to it now..

It would have to be a LOT of slude to cause your truck to be noticably slow off the line. Intake restrictions of that nature are not of much consequense until you reach VERY high rpms, at WOT.
