I HAVE A CHANCE TO PURCHASE A NEW IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE FOR A 1997 FORD RANGER V6 4.0L 245cid GAS FI N ENGINE VIN = X ( ACDELCO # 217-1667 ) AT HALF PRICE AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT WILL OPERATE CORRECTLY ON A 1997 FORD F-150 PICKUP SUPER CAB V8 4.6L 281cid GAS FI N ENGINE VIN = 6 ( ACDELCO # 217-1803 ):thumbsup:

that probably wont work. different computer calculations etc... if you are short on cash just clean your i.a.c valve for now. i cleaned mine 6 months ago she runs great.

I agree. Just remember to disconnect the battery before you pull the iac out to clean it.

Why disconnect the battery ? When the ignition is off, there isn't any power at the IAC. :fyi:

What would be the best cleaner to use to clean the control valve?:thumbsup:

carb cleaner. dont go crazy with the stuff. just enough to clean the needle in there of all the carbon.and careful not to damage the paper gasket also
