oil ?

oil ?

Just bought a 04 FX4 with 72k on it....doing a bunch of matinance on it so I know what I have....changed the oil and filter on the 5.4 I use 0-40 synthetic in everything i own...from the push mower up to the 450hp 4 wheel tractor... so i put it in the 5.4 did i do bad? should i change it out? I change the oil and filter every 6k on all my other trucks and cars...Thanks

What is 0-40 for originally? The tractor? 5W30 would be better.

it is concidered a diesel oil.....the 0-40 is used 12 months of the year in -40 degree temps to +40 degree c.

WHAT kind of tractor is that?!! Why do you run that weird oil in any of your vehicles?

It is a common oil in Ag. up here in Canada....

Interesting. What do you pull with it? I wasn't aware that anyone used anything like that in Alaska. The biggest we have on our farm is an 8760. Which is 300hp.


If I were you, I'd run JD oil. You can increase your service interval to 350 hours if you run it!!! We've been doing that for years, and they don't burn it. I even run it in my truck. JD makes a 5W30 engine oil, and THAT'S what I'd suggest for your truck.
