It sound like you need to replace the gaskets. If you have a solid motor otherwise, it is worth it to go ahead and have the work done. I'm sure it wont be cheap, but it will be less expensive than a motor swap and a lot less than getting a new truck.

get another truck. you will fall in love with it and it will have just as much sentimental value a few years from now

well it seems like some of you are pointing towards me getting another truck... but that will not happen lol. so i will probably just go ahead and get the gaskets replaced

Does anyone have any experience replacing the lower intake gaskets? If so can you tell me a little bit about the process. I mean I know that it is going to be a very tough job. But, just to see what all it would be. Local mechanic said about $350, but he said parts were only like 50. Let me know. Thanks
