how many miles on the truck? How about puddles under the truck? warantee up? If not, take it in. I have a feeling that they will say a quart every 1500 miles is normal. That used to be there max standard anyways.

What oil are you using now? I'd think that 5w20 is fine winter oil, unless you live in the artic tundra where it's never above -30*F.

i use about 1quart every 3000 miles when i use 5w20. when i use5w30 i dont use any. try 5w30 it wont hurt. i believe the first few years of the 5.4 ford said to use 5w30. 5w20 is just for gas mileage

My truck is recommended to use 5w30. So, it gets 5w30. Doesn't burn a drop (117K miles).

That's a little excessive, but I wouldn't worry about it. Just change brands. If that doesn't fix it, just change to 30 weight. I use John Deere plus-4. It's 10W30. My truck doesn't burn it like it did every other brand I used. But don't worry. A quart between oil changes is normal anyway. Most brand new trucks burn that much. Unless you have a problem (unlikely) it will get better with time. Mine used to burn a lot of oil, and it gets better each oil change.

I'm sure mine burns oil, but most of my oil leakage is from the oil lines and the head gaskets!!!!

It won't hurt it. You never hear of anybody blowing an engine up because their oil was too thick!
