Blown V6 Engine

I am in the process of pulling the motor on my 97 150 with the 4.2L V6 engine. I believe it has thrown a rod.

None the less I was looking around at the local junkyards for motors. No one seems to have the 4.2L. I was wondering about switching to the 4.6L V8. What is going to be required for the swap? Can I use the same transmission, AC compressor, powersteering pump from the V6? What about the motor mounts, do they match up?

Can anyone recommend a place that sells good motors?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think you're going to find that it's not gonna be an easy task to replace the 4.2 with a 4.6 or 5.4. I looked into this as well a while back. I found that the motor mounts do not line up, the tranny is different, new computer and wiring harness. That's just the basics, I did however hear that dropping in a 5.0 V8 is a possibility as far as the tranny and motor mounts working. I didn't look into it much more then that. I think there are a few on here that actually have done the swap so hopefully they'll chime in and give you more advice.
