05 5.4 FX4 a little sick

I have a 2005 FX4 5.4 with about 87k on it. Punched it about a week ago in traffic and thought it was going to die. Felt like it was not getting enough fuel. Fuel filter has been changed regularly, air filter changed regularly, oil changed regularly. No smoke. No check engine light. Any ideas???

PS - yes it had fuel in it

not sure but go have the injectors checked. Or you can go to auto zone or warmart and get that fuel treatmean that cleans injectors and what not try that. And what Gas are you putting in there. and have you ever changed the spark plugs and wires.

Very rarely have I ever run anything other than 87 octane- usually shell or conoco, sometimes walmart- maybe thats the problem. Still on the same tank of gas since I haven't driven much since the weekend. Ran pretty well earlier this week and then started ******* again yesterday. Any ideas are appreciated.

CATS - as in catalytic converters? Would that not trip a check engine light?

It should trip it but you know how that goes LOL Our work did the same thing as your truck and we took it to the shop and one of the cats were bad. All we did was bore the cats out and prob solved minus the check engine light LOL But thats just one of many things that it could be. Id take it to a dealership and see if any thing pops up on the their computer.
