Worse MPG after break in?

This last fill up I got 16.5 mpg. I need to check my tire pressure. I'm sure it is fairly low. Sometime Friday I will disconnect my battery.

My tires are a little low compared to what I normally run them at. 33 psi now vs. 38, which is stlight overinflation but that is where I run them. By the theory that you consume 2% more gas for every psi of underinflation, I am losing around 10% of my mpg vs. where I normal run my tires. Going back to 38 psi puts me back at around 18.15 mpg. That is what I was averaging last winter (no A/C). I'll get those tires aired backup and see what kind of results I see.
