LOL - WD40 don't last long enough to gum up - work great for loosing up the components , I blow it out with air , it does two things - frees everthing up and when you put the air to it it forces lube into areas you can't reach - been doin it for 206,000 miles ..Just common sense needs to be used , like dialing down the pressure.

That's good to know. I've never used it in this certain application but do know that with firearms out in the field, WD40 can be a bad idea if not kept up with.

I should explained it further - it helps aid in cleaning those little parts inside the IAC.
frees up the mechanical's. Those parts should move freely dry.

I shoot again with air before install, get as much as I can out of there. It doesn't take long to clean - It took longer to explain lol.."Deep-Creep" works better than WD40. It's just not always available.

Thanks again for all your help. I took it off about a week ago and cleaned it. It was a mess. No problems so far!! Easy fix!

WD40, aka "jizm" or "DD" is some awesome stuff. You can pour that stuff on a dead cat, and it will jump back to life!

I have NEVER seen it hurt/break anything. EVER.

Well, all I used was STP Throdle Body Cleaner, Q-Tips, a pipe cleaner, and compressed air. I'm sure that WD-40 would not have hurt a thing. I'll try that next time! I was just glad not to have dropped one of the screws or messed up the gasket.
