ive been thinking of putting a aftermarket syntrafugal super charger on my 02 150 super crew 4x4 with the 5.4
im just curious to what the power gain, gas mileage, and what else needs to be done i know the kit costs around 2,000 but what else needs to be done so my truck works properly and stays reliable

Well, look at it this way....

If they don't even know what it is, buying one probably isn't the best idea. Maybe some books and a subscription to Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords would be a good place to start. We should all get together and publish an "Idiot's Guide To Horsepower", or "Extra Ponies for Dumbasses". You know, something like that.

02sprcrw - The only sc kit close to your $ 2k would be the Powerdyne. Look around, google, etc, and the kit can be found heavily discounted. Good luck. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

He might find a used Procharger or Vortec for $2k, though I paid $3K for my used Procharger.

Check the dyno sticky in the supercharger forum for what you can expect.
It really depends on which blower you choose and how fast you spin it/the PSI you run it at.
