Oil Capacity 2005 vs 2006 5.4

Hmm interesting situation.....

1. 2005 (March Production) F150 4x2 5.4L Towing Package - Manual calls for 6 Qt oIl

2. 2006 (August Production) F150 4x2 5.4L Towing Package - Manual calls for 7 Qt oil

Both vehicles show 1 Qt below maximum on dipstick with 6 Qt.

Both vehicles show maximum with 7 Qt.

I cant tell any difference in the dip sticks. Is there any difference in oil pans or blocks/heads?
Did Ford just change the recommended amount of oil? Or is the 2004-2005 F150 Manual wrong?

Don't know why it would show 6 quart for the 2005, it was 7 for the 04. Where did you get the numbers?

Dohhhh! Never mind! I just checked and the manual shows 7.0 Qt! I could of sworn I checked the manual (maybe I looked at the 4.6L). Some online reference material supplied by Ford shows 6.0 Qt for the 2004-2005 F150 5.4L so I never rechecked!
