1999 was the last model year for plug wires and a coil packs on the 4.6 engine in the F-series and derivatives. By 2000 model year they were changed to the COP design and have been ever since.

well as it turns out my issue was in fact plug related one of the plug wires had the conector that connects to the plug itself in the the boot not connected to the wire. I replaced all the plugs while I was at it anyways and my truck is runnin glike a million bucks now tons more power hopefully my gas milage will imprve now since my cylinder is not fairing through an arch. I also added dielectric grease to be on the safe side and it has been raining since I did it and not 1 studder by the motor! Mission accomplished I would say! thanks to all those who helped.

Good to hear.
It shows how important each area is. This system overall has little tolerence for faults.

I honestly could not believe it when I pulled the wire off and looked in to take out the plug. I figured I better start with the cheap stuff and work to the more expensive I guess I got a early xmas gift from the f150 gods.
