Front main seal replacement

Hi all,

got a question for the group here. I have an old 91 F150 with a 96 302 motor in it that needs the front main seal replaced. It has been weeping for a while now, but has gotten bad in the last month. I need to change the seal, what is the best way without pulling the motor? I can if I have to, but really don't want to have to do that. Any suggestions? TIA

Go to Autozone, buy manual, follow instructions.

Dang man ya' think. Well I should have thought of that.

I have a manuel at the house. I was looking for something constructive, like been there done that, oh by the way don't do this because it will make the work harder to complete or cost me more money. I don't need the obvious or I would not ask, just advice on finishing the job in a timely and efficent manner.

you probably dont even have to pull the motor.take out the radiator so you have plenty of room for the harmonic balancer puller etc...toughest part os keeping the engine turning while trying to get crank bolt out,its on there good. did one on a old caprice u use to have.
