I was wondering about the same, all I was told was save your money for gas instead. The gains are SAID to be minimal if any. There is a trick about the TPS sensor and resetting the voltage or ???? I personally still think it may be worth while to try, we'll see what others say with them.

They are minimal. The only reason I did one on my truck was because I have the AF1. Also, If you dont port the plenum to match you arent going to gain much if anything at all.

A mod to gain mileage from what I've seen has been by far upkeep, plugs, oil changes and of course cleaning the t-body and IAC. I also have a K&N and have to clean it at 50000 miles or so, very forgiving that way. But the real money in my opinion has been the chip, exhaust and e-fans. The 1st and 3rd have been the biggest contributers, the second is just very minor, I like loud is all. I have run 91+ octane since 2000 so in my opinion that yields better mileage and cleaner burns, added to the chip that requires 91 at least.

My thaught is since I am kinda interested in a 75 mm BBK myself, I also have shown interest in a 90 mm MAF and JBA or Bassani headers. Maybe 1 of the above gains little at all, but all of them together plus a reflash of my chip? First I wonder what porting will do for buddy with the expy since I see he has the BBK, plus a 90mm MAF. Huh? Keep posted melman or anyone that's done similar, I would like more mod ideas if worthwhile.

Porting (port-matching) the plenum implies widening the intake hole where the throttle body bolts to, which is the plenum. I think JMC might have pics.

the MAC 75mm is better due to the adjustable idle screw

My 75mm BBK has the adjuster screw, but I've never needed to adjust it.

No MPG increase, no horsepower increase, nothing.

In order for a TB to do any good, the one you have must be too small and thus be causing a restriction.

If you consider that, nothing but WOT would be improved. But even for that to happen, the existing throttle body must be causing a restriction, and with a stock motor, it's not.

Oh, BTW, Mac TB's suck.
