Question 96 F150 fuel problem

I have the 96 F150 4.9l (manual), and a few days ago, I stopped and put $20 gas in the front tank (which is the tank I normally run it on). When I went to leave the station, the truck refused to start off that tank, but would start off the rear tank. My first guess is the fuel sender unit, but have heard mention that there might be a fuse associated with this. If so, is it on the fuse panel inside the cab? Any other ideas? Prior to this, I`d never had a problem with the front tank.
Thanks,
Dee

There's 1 fuse for the tank switch, which sends power to the pump you choose. If either pump runs, the fuse & inertia switch are OK.

But if you're putting most of the wear on 1 pump, it's naturally going to be the 1st one to wear out. Click my signature link & look in the EFI Fuel Pump album. Read the captions.
