Unhappy 92 F150 302 won't fire

Has good fuel pressure at the rails and hot spark. Checked spark plugs-OK. Trouble codes list a MAP error. Replaced fuel filter, dist cap and rotor. Runs on starter fluid.

NEVER replace any part based solely on a code. Even with the MAP disconnected, the truck will still run (badly). What's the actual code number AND full text definition?

In any case, it sounds like you don't have enough fuel pressure (exactly how MUCH does your fuel pressure gauge show?) &/or the injectors aren't opening.

All the injectors have 1 Red wire that's hot (12V) when the key is in RUN or START. Half of them have a Tan & the other half have White for the 2nd wire. Put a 12V test light on any T wire and crank the engine. The light should be on full-bright with the engine stopped, and then blink when the engine is turning. Repeat the test with any W wire.

22 was the code #. I did that ohm meter test it shows in the Chilton manual.
I didn't put a gauge up to the rail, I just pushed in the shreader valve and gas came out about7 inches in the air.

I'll try thte test you said. I can do it with a multi tester right? I also heard that if you put a screw driver to the injectors you will hear a clicking sound if they are operating correctly?

Im gonna work on the truck tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the info!!

That test is worthless. Put a gauge on it.

IMO, Chilton's is worthless, too. I much prefer Haynes. But what test did you do, and what were the results: pass, or fail?

Yes, you can use just about anything as a stethoscope to listen to the injectors - even your fingertip.

Truck fired up once I unhooked the MAP. So I bought a new one, everything is perfect =).
