Truck won't start

Hello all! I have an 1999 F-150 4.6L with about 120,000 miles on it. I had been driving my truck all day today and it ran fine. I parked the car in the driveway and then went back out after about an hour and the truck would not start. It would turn over no problem, but it would not start. Can anyone give me some ideas on what it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Will it start if you put the pedal to the floor? If so, let's look for a vacume leak. (somthign I'm going 'round with now)
If it's getting enough fuel, check the air intake system for blockages.

ignition problem or fuel delivery problem?

The first thing to do in a situation like yours is determine if you have an ignition problem or a fuel delivery problem. In my opinion it is easier to check to see if you have spark(ignition). There are many ways to check for spark depending on what equipment you have. My favorite and safe way is to simply hook up my timing light in the normal manner and see if it flashes while cranking the engine. You can pull a spark plug wire off the plug and hold it near the plug and see if it sparks, but if you aren't careful the voltage from an electronic ignition can throw you on your a__ or so I have read. You can go to an auto parts store and buy some sort of spark tester. Bottom line here is the first thing you need to determine is if you have an ignition problem or a fuel delivery problem, then figure out the specific problem.

Went back out this morning to check on the truck. It started up no problem. Does anyone know what may have caused my truck to not start last evening? Is it possible to flood the newer engines as you could with the older ones or could there still be a problem that I should look for? Thanks for all your answers.
