electrical problems
daco36, I'm having the same problem with my 02' scab. Sometimes the 4x4 indicator light will flash on and off and my radio will not work unless my truck is in Park or Neutral? I was hoping to find out what your solution was, because it's probably the same thing that's happening to mine.

Same thing.
Leaky windshield followed by water infiltration into the GEM and CJB.

daco, the GEM module is a programable device that is programmed for the options your truck has when built.
This means that not just any module will work all the options unless you get one used from a truck that has all the same options.
The dealer has to check the 'as built' data base to see what the module needs to be programmed for.
These options are also the basis of dealer special diagnostic and the codes that could output per a fault.
For example, a 4w drive. A truck that has 2w drive would not have the same programming. 4wheel drive uses the GEM for control and indication functions that 2wheel drive does not use. Another example is this module is used in other car and truck applications with different hardware and design.
Good luck.
