Dynamic Tuning Fuel Saver Module
Dynamic Tuning Fuel Saver Module
Anyone familiar with the above item?? I ran across it on Ebay for F150/250's among other vehicles. It's advertised to improve gas mileage by 5 - 7 mpg?? The module is supposed to tune your vehicle for maximum fuel economy based on Throttle %, Speed, and Specific gear and RPM. The module is to be plugged into a sensor on your engine. The sensor relays altered information to the ECU. Supposedly optimizing the air/fuel ratio for fuel economy. It has a money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied with the performance. My concern would be with possibly leaning out the mixture too much and causing engine problems?? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's BS. It plugs in between the TPS (throttle position sensor) and the ECM. The best thing you can hope for is a motor that's running leaner than s**t and the worst is SEVERE driveabilty problems. Information from the MAF and TPS will be in conflict causing a really messed up situation.
Spending your money on some good shoes and walking is a much better and safer mod than that one.

You are paying $8 for some one to solder a $0.30 resistor to a plug. The resistor changes the info the being sent from the MAF to the ECM making it think the air density lower than it really is. The system leans out and you use less fuel. Problem is, the air density probably isn't lower and the engine is running too lean. Yeah you use a little less gas (surely not 5-7 miles per gallon in a vehicle typically around 12-16) but the money saving will never equal the damage being done to the engine. Jerks on E-bay preying on people who do not understand the vehicles.
As always, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.........
