went to AZ today and this code was pulled. However when I'm driving around 45-55 if feels like a COP is out. First thing he said was gas cap.
what can i do without taking it to a repair person?

LOL - They said the same thing to me once, but I didn't have that . Did you by chance monkey around with that green evap **** above your brake booster hose? If you have, that will throw that code. My overflow hose along the main filler rusted threw and I recieved that code aswell.
That has nothing to do with a COP, but if your getting a skip, shutter, vibration, an aparent misfire after your truck shifts into OD at about that speed 45-50 mph it's common. This is a misfire's favorite part of the drive cycle.
If no light exists at this time you can speed up detection from your PCM.. Push your motor hard right after it shifts into OD - do this once or twice you'll get a blinking check engine light for a little while - then it will go away. Wait a little bit without turnig yourtruck off, push your truck for the blinking light once more . Head to Auto Zone , you've got mail.
Getting a misfire to flash repeatedly for a bit and twice within the same drivecycle assures a code - a misfire code.
Good Luck

Could be a gas cap with a bad seal, a bad or contaminated canister vent valve, or any other small leak in the evaporative emissions system.
jbrew is dead-on in diagnosing the stumble. Follow his directions.

No, you have two separate, unrelated problems that just happen to be present at the same time.
