Cam Phasers

How many cam phasers are on a 5.4 f150. I read in here that someone said they had to have both replaced, one on pass. side and one on drivers side, but the dealership talked like there was only one, unless I misunderstood them. I recently purchased a 2004 supercrew with 21,000 miles and they said that the cam phaser was causing the it to be noisey and it would be covered under warranty I hope this fixes it because it sounds like a diesel. I would hate to switch to a GM, but I can't be replacing this every 20,000 miles. I have read on this forum where this has been a reoccurring problem.

There's two phasers, one per cylinder bank, mounted on the front of the camshaft.

Hi.

Two cams (one for each SOHC bank), hence two cam phasers.

But, if a problem exists only on one side, they typically will not replace the other one out of hand ...

Cheers
