Squirrels/Firewall ?

Hey guys,

I have a 2005 F150. I recently found out that a squirrel used my truck as home base. It built a nest out of my fire wall at the back of my engine and it stuffed my entire intake full of black walnuts. There must have been half a gallon bucket worth of walnuts in there. BTW - getting walnuts out of the baffles in the plastic piece that channels air into the filter wasn't easy.

My question is how bad is it to not replace the firewall material that the squirrel destroyed? Is there going to be heat problems in the summer time leaking into the cab or electronics problems inside the dash?

Also would it be a good idea to upgrade to an H&N filter? What are the pluses and minuses.

Thanks

Tom

Tell your insurance company you got vandalized by a squirrel. Man, I'm trying not to laugh. Sorry.:o Your best bet would be to take it to the dealer and let them check it out if it's really bad.

Stay away from K&N filters. They get oil on your MAF and IAT sensors which can cause pinging/detonation.

i have on all my vehicles.. k&n filters.. they havent had any problems with oil getting on any sensors..... now unless your a OVER ACHIEVER and spray too much on the filter... then you might ..... but if you do it right... there wont be any problems but i havent had any problems.... they work better than any paper filter..

ahh man, if a squirrel did that no me itsa going to be dead small game season or not I have like 10 different squirrels in the area I live in, had no problem such as this just yet. But a K&N would do you good, the one in my F250 makes me happy.
