new intake high idle

new intake high idle

i already posted this in anothe area but i need help

i just installed a new cold air intake (ebay)
now the truck idles high around 1500 rpm
the guy told me to disconnect my battery for 10 minutes and go for a drive and it should cure itself but it hasent any ideas?

Link doesn't work. Is it a cheap ebay intake? That could be your problem right there...

The high idle is excess air.
Good bet you have a leak after the mass air meter or the IAC is open too far for some reason.
To check the IAC, remove it's plug while the engine is running.
Does the idle go low or engine stall? If yes the IAC is ok. If no the IAC is sticking open to far.
For air leak, recheck all the intake tract connections for being fully on and clamped. There can be no unaccounted for air after the air meter.

Spend a few bucks for a proven intake, or go back to stock. Not bashing you, but I wouldn't think of running that thing on my truck.

thanks i was just thinkin that myself
althogh i did the install at work and another worker tossed out my stock stuff

what intakes are proven here?

thankyou i went out and double checked everything you listed uncorked the iac the truck dies re checked all the connections they are ok
i can only think its just a terrible intake think im goin with volant thanks guys

figured it out ended up being the icv took it off cleaned it up reinstalled it
fired her up idles normal

im still buyin a different intake though
