Underdrive pulley installation
Underdrive pulley installation
A friend of mine has bought a pulley kit and asked me to assist him in installation. How hard is the crankshaft pulley to get off and reinstall and what tools will we need to do it?

Not difficult with the right tools, info, and attitude ;-))
Didn't the pulley kit come with instructions? Mine did.
Maybe you got the wrong kit.
You need:
>To Search (hehe)
>crank puller (buy /borrow /rent)
>special tools to hold/remove the fan (buy/borrow/rent/improvise)
> assorted wrenches, sockets
>patience
>beer
DON'T re-use the old crank bolt (torque-to-yield) - use the new one that should be supplied in the kit.
Follow precisely the proper tightening procedure & torques that also should be in the instructions.
Watch out for that crank bolt washer!
Secure the key with some RTV
If the kit has no instructions / crank bolt, return it and buy one that does.
Now would be a good time to replace the belt, and/or add E-fans ;-))
Oh - did I mention Search? This has been covered approx 1,000 times already.
Cheers

Gates for me if that means anything.
