ive seen a couple of posts on 5.4lt missing but mines is a 4.6l 01 expedition. my wife was driving it all day and said it was driving fine. bu when we got in it earlier to get some food, she reversed and i felt the motor shutter.now its shutters whenever its idling and also when you start taking off. it does not have a check engine light or anything. i got the truck not too long ago so tommorow i will be buying some new plugs and wires. any tips or ideas you guys might have on my problem?? thanx in advance you guys

 

My sisters expedition was doing the same thing.It has one or more coil packs either bad or fixing to.Go to e-bay and order the 8 coilpacks from GLOBAL AUTOMOTIVE for about 120.00.START replacing coil packs one at a time.NOTE,if you go to the dealer one coil pack will cost you 100.00.My dad was doing the process of elimination thing on my sisters EXPY and found the #6 plug boot had deteriorated and was no longer holding on to the spark plug,thus letting the spring inside the boot that clips onto spark plug,get air and had started corroding.He replaced it and problem was solved.By the way my sisters expy is a 2001 with the 4.6L.I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.
