Extra Power?

I was kind of wondering how I could get some more power out of my '89 F-150 4.9L inline 6. I was thinking about budget though. I need a kind of cheap solution, and something kind of simple also. The power I'm looking for is highway power, and pulling power. I'm not looking to make a hot rod, or a mudding monster. Basically a daily driver, that'll have the power to do what ever is needed. This truck does have some sentimental value to it, as it is my first truck. I'm not looking to go hog wild, I'm just lookin to squeeze a bit more horsepower out of it, and some torque, without sacrificing gas mileage. Is any of this possible??

-Thanks
