Question K&n

What do you use to clean your k&N and do you oil it or just clean it?

If you shop around, you can find the recharge kit on sale for $7-$8 (they sell them everywhere they sell K&N filters). It uses an amonia based cleaning solution. Depending on the size of the filter, you can get two - three cleans out of one kit (and still have some oil left over).

Cleaned mine every third oil change. BUT, that is depending on your environmental conditions and how much you drive it. That was on my mustang which was a Friday through Sunday car. Check it and use you best judgement.

K&N's filter better the dirtier they get. Don't clean it too often. It can trap a lot of dirt before it's efficiency rating drops off.

It's important to follow the direction on the kit...let it dry completely before you oil it up....my MAF sensor threw a code after doing mine....had to pull it and clean it afterwards.???
