check engine

I have the 4.2 litre engine and my check engine light came on. The local college hooked it up awhile ago and said it was the o2 sensor. Is there only one of these on the engine? I had someone tell me there was more than one. Also if not where is it and how to change it would be some good info.

Thanks for your time guys.

I am unsure how many you have for that engine, but it would be on the exhaust pipe, look at it and find the 02's. They will be threaded into the pipe.

There would be 4 O2 sensors. Two before and two aft of the cats. You really need to find out the actual error codes and post them here for a proper diagnostic. Autozone for one will read out the codes for you. Many times it's something other than O2 sensors (which are U$75 a piece).
