4.6 Plug Wires

Hey all,
Got a question: is there anything unique about plug wires for a 4.6 2V Mustang that would prevent them from being used on a '98 F150? I can find several sets of plug wires on Ebay using "4.6 ford plug wires", but they all seem to say they are for Mustangs.

Question 2: what do the effects of old/bad plug wires feel like? Like a loss of power above a certain RPM level? Can they be checked before I spend my limited resources on something that will not help my situation? Sorry for actually sneaking extra questions in there.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
