Replaced EGR valve and sensor...

Yahhhh!!! I did it all by myself...First time I ever did something like this other than changing my breaks.
So, truck runs better now, but.......
It still shakes a little. I did not clean my throttle body and a friend is supposed to come and help do it because he is a mechanic and has some things I can use.
My check engine light has not come on since.
So, if I do this, will it fix the problem or do you think something else is goin on?

truck would shake when accelerating and it was losing power. Now, I have gained the power and it is better, but it shakes when im just driving, but not as much.
Yes I went to autozone and and the codes read that i needed to replace egr valve and the egr sensor.

Those arn't codes. What were the numbers pulled by the scanner? What is your engine?

WOW!!! I must be psychic!

There are NO codes that say "replace a certain part". They are ALL a beginning point for a DIAGNOSIS.

I think they were 401 & 402.
About 3 weeks ago, it was a cylinder 1 misfire

My engine is a 5.4 V8. 1999 F-150 supercab

Ok , but you need to get the codes and be positive about them, you will get great information from everyone here, but you need to assure us of your codes. Like I said in the last thread, write them down , all of them, that's what needs to happen first. Look at the code reader yourself when getting it read and write them down right then. You will get help here.

Even though my light is not on, I can still get codes read????
Ever since I replaced those 2 parts, it has not come on since. First time ever.
The codes were P0401 and P0402

Has your light blinked? Have you noticed that? Now it's off? Has it blinked since you have fixed your EGR problem.

I would clean the throttle body first before anything else.

That is what I am going to do tomorrow.A neighbor gave me some tips. I just need to by a trottle body cleaner or spray.

Are you talking about it blinking when I first turn it on or while I'm driving? While I am driving, I have seen nothing. And trust me, I have been looking because this is the first time it has ever been off this long.
