Knocking

When i start up it will knock till it warms up or i put it in drive could this be the tarkconvter not warmed up ?

it is a 99 F150 5.4 4+4.

i believe you have the infamous 5.4 "piston slap". i've heard it's nothing to worry about, just don't hammer on the gas pedal when it's warm.

sorry, until it's warm. when it is warm you can throw a brick on the gas pedal and it will be fine.
