engine stalling

2003 f150, crew cab 4x4 w/ 4.6. The truck has been running and the engine is hot. If I shut it off then restart it within a few minutes it wants to die . It starts fine then the rpm's just keep dropping until it dies. I have to keep tapping the gas pedal to keep the rpm's up until I can get it into gear and moving. Any ideas? Thanks, Joel.

sounds like either a clogged intake filter or a vacuum leak to me.
